Kate currently teaches AP and PreAP Biology at Rogers Heritage High School in Rogers. She received her bachelors of science in Forensic Science from Columbia College in Columbia, MO and worked in various fields before beginning her teaching career at Heritage in 2011. Kate has taught in both the life and physical science areas, but her real passion is combining the two with biochemistry. She loves to attend PD workshops and learn from her colleagues and work to improve science education. In addition to her teaching duties, Kate sponsors the school chapter of the national honor society. Outside of school, Kate loves to spend time with her husband and daughter, lots of local extended family, her mini Aussie shepherd, and her two sphynx cats. Her favorite ways to spend that time are scuba diving, hiking, geocaching, biking, kayaking, sailing, and camping, and if any combination of those can happen simultaneously and include her cats, life is all the grander.
